April 25 - 28, 2024	77th Annual Garden Symposium at Colonial Williamsburg	101 Visitor Center Drive, Williamsburg, Virginia. 23185	LINK:  ROOTS OF THE AMERICAN GARDEN	Theme: "Roots of the American Garden!" The 2024 symposium presentations and speakers will explore diverse topics and perspectives to understand how historical gardening methods can challenge and inspire. The event will focus on edible gardening and landscape architecture and design. A sample of presenters - Joanne Chapman, Colonial Williamsburg Director of Landscape; Teri Speight, former City of Fredericksburg Head Gardener; William Woys Weaver, food historian, seed saver, and founder of the Roughwood Table.

April 20, 2024 (1 p.m.)	Screening of Gaining Ground: The Fight for Black Land	Independent Picture House, Charlotte, North Carolina	LINK: GAINING GROUND	Gaining Ground will be screened at the Independent Picture House and will include a panel discussion. It is presented by the SEARS Group (RSVP info coming soon). The event is free and open to the public.

May 3, 2024	44th Annual Seed Savers Exchange Conference	Virtual	LINK: SEED SAVERS ANNUAL CONFERENCE	For the 44th annual conference, Seed Savers Exchange divided sessions into four days with themes on community, foodways, breeding, and climate. Participants will hear from subject matter experts including SSE staff and community builders, and enjoy interactive small group breakout rooms. Whether you are a first-time gardener, first-time seed saver, or someone who has been to every one of our previous 43 summer conferences, we know attendees will be inspired by this year's theme, "Growing Together: Sharing Seeds, Stories, and Skills." May 3, 2024 (8:30 a.m. - 6 p.m.)	Slavery in the New Netherland & Dutch Atlantic World - Day 1	Schomberg Center for Research in Black Culture, 515 Malcolm X Boulevard, New York, NY. 10037	LINK: NEW NETHERLAND	Slavery in New Netherland and the Dutch Atlantic World, a two-day conference in New York City presented in partnership with the New Netherland Institute, will help extend the call for increased historical research on slavery in the United States. Held at the New-York Historical Society on the Upper West Side and the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture in Harlem, it will convene academic scholars, researchers, public historians, archivists, and librarians from the Netherlands and the United States. Together, they will weigh the history and legacy of slavery, the slave trade, and colonialism in New Netherland, the Netherlands, and the Americas.

June 9, 2024	Odunde Festival	Philadelphia, Pennsylvania	LINK: ODUNDE FESTIVAL	The Odunde Festival, held annually in Philadelphia, attracts up to 500,000 people annually and is the largest African-American street  festival held in the country. The Odunde festival, whose concept originates from the Yoruba people of Nigeria, West Africa, celebrates the coming of another year for  African-Americans and African people around the world.
June 13-15, 2024	Tulsa Juneteenth Festival	Historic Greenwood, Tulsa, Oklahoma	LINK:  TULSA JUNETEENTH FESTIVAL	Tulsa's Juneteenth Festival on historical, Greenwood Avenue serves as a safe space to exist in the fullest expression of yourself, as human, free and worthy of the joy of liberation. The event includes a block party, music performances, wellness activities, an art exhibition, an interactive art installation and other events.
