Homegrown, Netflix

Jamila Norman, host

Netflix Television Series

On the three-season Homegrown series, Atlanta-based urban farmer Jamila Norman helps aspiring gardeners transform their outdoor spaces into stunning edible gardens. Besides designing gardens, she also manages her own 1.2 acre Patchwork City Farm  and delivers fresh foods to local farmers markets.  Norman shows her particular skill at connecting her gardening advice to culture.  Check out all of the episodes, but especially spend some time with a couple from Trinidad and Jamaica (Season 1, Episode 3) who learn how to grow foods of cultural significance in their Atlanta home.   “After all,” says Norman, “everything tastes a little better when it’s homegrown.”  Streaming now on the Magnolia Network (HGTV) and Max.
